First blog post, am I doing this right???

In June of 2012, I left a bad relationship, moved to New Jersey, and started my life over in a small 1 bedroom apartment with bonus room. I finally had my own space, and a way to let out my desires about what I wanted my home to be like. At the time, I was 100% going for boho, and to be frank, I nailed it. In August of 2013, I started dating my now husband, and he pretty much moved in with me within the first 2 months. (when you know you know.) We thought about getting a different place, but the relationship was so new, and I wanted to make sure WE worked before I uprooted all that I've built. In 2015 we wanted more. We moved into an upstairs condo, with washer dryer outlets, a dishwasher, and central air, which was a huge win. We lived there until 2015, when a man came to lock us out of the place because the owner hadn't paid their mortgage in god knows how long. Our downstairs neighbor saw this all happening and hes like, look you want to rent my place? So we quickly moved downstairs, and he bought a second home to live in. Covid happened. Prices started rising. But the one thing that wasn't rising at the time was interest rates. I knew when our lease was up our rent was going to be unattainable. So we approached our landlord and asked if we could purchase the condo from him. Right before Memorial Day last year our condo became officially ours. We've done alot since then. Got a new fridge, living room ceiling fan, couch, washing machine, smart thermostat, bedroom set, and a bunch of other smaller, yet equally exciting things. (pictured is our living room on closing day) I also set out to fill our home with plants. It was difficult, the incoming sunlight wasn't strong, and I had a cat that ate any plant in his reach. But we've made it work. Anyway, this blog is about our condo life, including but not limited to plants, cats, decor, books, eats, and more. Stay tuned for updates, and check out my Instagram.
