Lets Talk Plants and Pets

I have three cats. One is chill, another is curious, and the third will demolish any plant within his reach. So I have to be creative. I have hanging plant shelves in my front window, and a bamboo shelf in my dining room with plants high enough to not be feasted on. Even so, I make sure all the plants a non toxic. I get a northeastern light, so lowlight plants are needed as well. That narrows down the lot to almost nothing. Here are some plants I do have that tolerate low light, and are non toxic to cats.

In the first picture, hanging from left to right is a Baby Rubber Plant, and a Pilea. Pileas are great because they make babies, and many of those have gone out to friends and family as gifts.

In the second photo, from top to bottom are my Pilea (now repotted and ready to sprout more babies) and Money Tree to the right. Below is a Thanksgiving Cactus that produces beautiful pink flowers every November, and a Curly Variegated Spider Plant next to it. Lastly at the bottom is a Gasteria Plant, which supposedly blooms flowers in the shape of a human stomach. I've yet to see it bloom.

Hopefully this gives you some insight on plants that tolerate low light condition and won't make your cat sick. Bonus is they are all very easy to care for!
